This seminar has no grading, so what counts is that you take part. Here is what we ask of participants.
Take part in the sessions¶
Attend the weekly sessions and join the discussions. The discussions are where the topics connect to your own projects.
Read the papers or look at the tools that the instructor introduces for the week. Each topic is built around a few key references, listed in the syllabus.
Give presentations¶
Student presentations take place on Fridays. Each presentation is 45 minutes, followed by discussion and feedback.
You can take an assigned topic or choose your own. A topic that connects to your own research or project is welcome.
How topics and dates are assigned: TBD
Prepare in the Thursday discussion¶
The Thursday session is a 45-minute discussion with the instructor about the paper or topic you would like to present on Friday. Use it to ask questions, name knowledge gaps, and get feedback on your plan before you present.
Prerequisites¶
A working knowledge of quantum computing fundamentals is recommended, for example quantum circuits and the basics of linear algebra. No prior background in quantum error correction is assumed.
Assessment and credit¶
There is no grade. The number of ECTS awarded for participation is TBD. This page will be updated once it is confirmed.
